Hand-Made Nettle Paper
as Part of the On Paper Festival 2026
A Celebration of stationery, creativity & craftsmanship
Tues 16th June 2026, 1:30 pm-4:30 pm
Join this fabulously creative Paper Making workshop and make your very own beautifully natural and textured paper out of nettles.
In this workshop you'll get hands on with the Earth Ink Print team, learning how to process nettle fibre, blend it with recycled paper pulp and make beautiful sheets of creative paper. Using small moulds you'll be shown how to form sheets with mould and deckle frames, using natural wheat starch sizing, along with pressing and finishing techniques.
You'll get to experiment with ‘inclusions’, adding plant materials to your paper for variety, as well as lamination (sandwiching objects between paper) and creating stencilled shapes, plus how to manipulate the paper surface to create interesting textures.
Once dry, participants will get to collect their paper creations at the Grand Fair or from the Meticulous Ink shop.

Botanical Ink Making
Join us for a hands-on Natural Ink Workshop where you'll learn
to create beautiful artists grade ink from kitchen ingredients.
Sat. 22nd August 2026, 10 am - 1 pm
Join Helen and Tom to embark on your inky adventures. Taking place at The Make Space, set in the beautiful Tithe Barn, Bradford-on-Avon.
In this workshop, you will be shown how to extract colour from kitchen ingredients and how to use modifiers and binders.
Let your creativity flow, as you experiment with different colours. No prior experience is necessary.
You will take home home a bottle of ink and we will send you a digital instruction manual upon completion.
